garden update

we went to the 6bc garden after brunch this morning and were awed as usual by its beauty. i was somewhat irritated to discover, however, full grown blooming queen anne's lace. my seedlings are all quite miniscule, and i was starting to think that even though they are native to new york that maybe this was too far south for them and that's why you never see them in the city. nope. eh, they probably started them inside.

anyway, my poppies are getting ready to bloom.

and, look, tomatoes.

so there.

guerrilla garden update

the poppy seeds i sprinkled are coming up in the tree beds on 4th avenue just north of astor place.

they take a long time to germinate, and i fear that these are the only ones that managed. these trees have an irrigation system which has made the difference.

the queen anne's lace is coming up in more places, though.
